





The Greater Accra Regional Director of the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Dr. Robert Amesiya, has paid a working visit to the Ga West Municipal Hospital as part of his familiarization and supervisory tour of health facilities within the region. The visit, which took place on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, aimed to assess ongoing operations, engage with hospital staff, and encourage a culture of excellence and compassion in healthcare delivery.
The delegation was formally received by the Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Eric Sarpong-Ntiamoah, along with other members of management. The event began with a brief presentation on the state of affairs at the facility, delivered by the Hospital Administrator, Mr. Nyaabiire Nsobilla Atindaana (Esq.). His presentation provided an overview of the hospital’s current operations, infrastructural progress, service delivery challenges, and future outlook.
Dr. Amesiya was accompanied by a team of senior officials from the Greater Accra Regional Health Directorate, including:
- Dr. Farida Abdulai, Deputy Director of Public Health (DDPA)
- Mr. Emmanuel Taadi, Deputy Director of Administration (DDA)
- Ms. Dorothy Amanor, Public Relations Officer (PRO)
- Ms. Lumor, Administrative Manager
Following the presentation, the Regional Director and his team were taken on a comprehensive tour of the facility. They visited key departments including the Outpatient Department (OPD), Maternity Unit, Emergency Unit, Laboratory, Pharmacy, and inspected ongoing infrastructure development projects.
During his interactions with staff, Dr. Amesiya applauded the professionalism and dedication exhibited by personnel at all levels of the hospital. He specifically commended the management team for maintaining a high standard of service delivery despite resource constraints.
“I am impressed with the level of commitment and teamwork here at Ga West. Your efforts are making a real difference in the lives of patients, and I urge you to continue raising the bar,” Dr. Amesiya remarked.
He further encouraged all employees under the Ghana Health Service to be diligent, compassionate, and collaborative in their duties. “Beyond clinical excellence, our work demands empathy—for patients and for each other. Let’s continue to build a supportive and caring healthcare environment,” he emphasized.
The visit concluded with a closed-door session between the Regional Director’s team and hospital leadership, where discussions centered on key challenges, resource needs, and strategic opportunities for improvement.
In his closing remarks, Dr. Eric Sarpong-Ntiamoah expressed heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Amesiya and his delegation for their visit and motivation. “This visit reinforces our shared mission and energizes us to do more for our patients and community,” he said.
